Scholarships
IEO is here to assist international students with various scholarship programs. There are hundreds of scholarships available for international students from a wide variety of sources such as the Government of Ireland, the Irish higher education institutions, and other organisations. These are awarded solely at the discretion of the individual organisations that set down their own criteria for eligibility.

National College of Ireland (NCI)
- Master’s Academic Merit Scholarships: €3,000 – €5,000 (September & January intakes).
- Higher Diploma Scholarships: €4,000 (Computing & Data Analytics programmes).
- Undergraduate Academic Scholarship: €2,000 for first-year undergraduates.
- ECEC Scholarship: Available for BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education & Care.
- Young Future Leaders Programme (YFLP): €3,000/year (with participation certificate).
- Sports Scholarships: For exceptional athletes at international/national level.
Note: Most scholarships are automatically assessed upon
application; YFLP and Sports Scholarships require separate applications.
University of Galway (NUI Galway)
College of Arts, Social Sciences & Celtic Studies
- Undergraduate (UG): €2,000 Merit Award (all first-year students); €10,000 Excellence Award (1 student).
- Postgraduate (PG): €2,000 Merit (35 students); €10,000 Excellence (3 students).
College of Business, Public Policy & Law
- Undergraduate (UG): €5,000 (Business/Law first years); €2,000 (Shannon College first years); 50% tuition fee waiver for 1 Shannon College student.
- Postgraduate (PG): €2,000 (Shannon College); up to 50% tuition fee waiver in Business & Law Schools.
College of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences
- Undergraduate (UG): €3,000 Merit (6 Medicine students).
- Postgraduate (PG): €3,000 Merit (20 students).
College of Science & Engineering
- Undergraduate (UG): €2,000 – €5,000 Merit (multiple disciplines, renewable for 4 years).
- UG Excellence: €10,000 – €20,000 (select students across disciplines).
- Postgraduate (PG): €2,000 Merit (all accepted students); €10,000 Excellence (various disciplines).
Dublin City University (DCU)
- DCU Merit Scholarships: Partial fee reductions for Non-EU students.
Faculty Bursaries
- Humanities & Social Sciences: €2,000 fee reduction (PG programmes).
- Engineering & Computing: €5,900 fee reduction (selected PG programmes).
- Business School: €900 – €1,400 fee reduction (selected PG programmes).
Maynooth University
- Taught Master’s Scholarships: €2,000 – €5,000 based on academic merit.
University College Cork (UCC)
- Taught Master’s Scholarships: 10% – 20% tuition fee reduction based on undergraduate performance.
- UG Scholarships (Science, Engineering & Food Science): 25% tuition fee reduction (renewable for full programme duration).
- College of Arts, Celtic Studies & Social Sciences UG: 15% tuition fee reduction (renewable for 3 years).
Nursing & Midwifery Scholarships
- MSc Nursing: 35% – 50% tuition fee scholarships (based on HDI ranking).
- BSc Nursing (Top-Up): 10% – 15% tuition fee scholarships.
University of Limerick (UL)
- Merit-Based Scholarships: €2,000 per year (UG & PG).
- Kemmy Business School: €2,500/year for Non-EU students.
- Progression Scholarship: EU fee status for UL undergraduates progressing to Master’s.
- PG Scholarships: 50% tuition fee discount for eligible students (excluding MSc Sustainable Resource Management).

Trinity College Dublin (TCD)
- Global Excellence Undergraduate Scholarships: Up to €5,000 (first year only).
- Global Excellence Postgraduate Scholarships: €2,000 – €5,000 (one-time reduction).
South East Technological University (SETU)
- International Fee Reduction: 7% – 30% discount (based on programme, academics, English proficiency).
Dublin Business School (DBS)
- Overseas Student Scholarships: €500 – €1,000 (for Level 8 & 9 programmes).
University College Dublin (UCD) Scholarships
- Global Excellence Scholarships: 50% – 100% tuition fee coverage for outstanding students.
- International Student Scholarships (ISS): Automatic assessment for all Non-EU applicants.
Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Scholarships
- Non-EU Scholarships: Up to €3,000 off tuition fees (based on country of origin and English proficiency).
Griffith College Scholarships
- UG Bursaries: €1,500 (varies by faculty/campus).
- UG Academic Merit Scholarships: €1,000 – €2,000 (performance-based).
- PG Bursaries: €2,000 for all international PG students.
- PG Academic Merit Scholarships: €1,000 – €2,000 (based on CGPA).
- Special Case: Students with CGPA > 3.5 and IELTS 7.0 may receive 50% scholarship.
Munster Technological University (MTU) Scholarships
- UG Scholarships: €2,500.
- PG Scholarships: €2,500 – €3,000 (depending on programme).
Note: Automatic assessment; €1,000 deposit required upon acceptance.
Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) Scholarships
- Merit-Based Scholarships: UG: Up to €3,000 (GPA-based). PG: Up to €4,000 (GPA-based).
- Alumni Scholarships: €3,000 – €4,000.
- Sibling/Family Scholarships: €1,000.
- Other Named Scholarships: Nursing (€6,000), Homecoming (€5,000), Foundation (€1,000 – €2,000), Embassy (€1,000).
- Note: Maximum scholarship cap (excluding homecoming/partnership) is €4,000.
Independent College Dublin Scholarships
- International Student Discount: 10% off total tuition fee (UG & PG programmes).
