Work Rights as a Student (Stamp 2) – Up to 20 hrs/week term time, 40 hrs/week during holidays (June–Sept & 15 Dec–15 Jan).

🔧 Tax Setup: 1) Get IRP card → 2) Apply PPS Number (mywelfare.ie) → 3) Register with Revenue (myaccount.revenue.ie) → PAYE system
🎓 After Graduation — Stamp 1G (Stay-Back Visa): Up to 12 months (Bachelor’s) or 24 months (Master’s/PhD) with full-time work rights (40h/week). No sponsorship needed initially. Apply within 6 months of award confirmation via irishimmigration.ie (€300 fee). After Stamp 1G → Critical Skills Employment Permit or General Employment Permit. After 5 years legal residence → Stamp 4 → citizenship path.

- Get PPS number & Revenue before first work day
- Apply Stamp 1G before Stamp 2 expires
- Network constantly – jobs filled via connections
- Disclose visa status honestly to employers
- Register with NMBI/CORU early (healthcare)
❌ DON'T
- Exceed 20h/week during term – immigration violation
- Work cash-in-hand (lose tax records & protections)
- Apply for social welfare – risks visa
- Let recruiters double-submit your CV
- Wait until after graduation to job hunt
