IEO is here to assist international students with various scholarship programs. There are hundreds of scholarships available for international students from a wide variety of sources such as the Government of Ireland, the Irish higher education institutions, and other organisations. These are awarded solely at the discretion of the individual organisations that set down their own criteria for eligibility.

If you are a Non-EU student thinking of applying to study in GMIT then you may qualify for a GMIT scholarship in recognition of your English language attainment, your country of origin, or both.  These bursaries are reviewed annually.

Through its membership of the European Science Foundation, the Research Council is committed to integrating Irish research in European and international networks of expertise.

A generous 4-year scholarship is available for an outstanding PhD candidate in the field of Law, within the School of Law and Government at Dublin City University. The scholarship will include a fee waiver and a tax-free stipend of €12,000 per annum for a full-time PhD student.

To this end, we offer a range of merit-based scholarships to students from a number of non-EU countries, in line with our strategic international priorities. DCU offers partial merit-based scholarships to some international students. When you apply as an international student to study at DCU, we automatically consider you for a scholarship. We’ll let you know if you have qualified for a scholarship when we contact you to advise if your application to study at DCU has been successful. Certain conditions apply.

Maynooth University offers academic and sport scholarships are available for undergraduate students

Maynooth University encourage achievement and where possible, reward that achievement.  A number of scholarships are therefore available to incoming and continuing undergraduate students.

University College Dublin (UCD) in Ireland is one of the world’s top universities and is the most popular university for international students in Ireland. Each year, UCD offers a number of Global Excellence Scholarship to international students (on non-EU fees) who are starting a course at UCD in September.

To apply for the Global Excellence Scholarship, students must first have received an offer (or conditional offer) to study in an eligible UCD course.

University of Limerick have a number of partial merit-based scholarships. Once you submit an application for a programme, you are automatically reviewed for scholarship. If you are eligible for scholarship, you will receive the decision at the same time as your offer decision.

Since its foundation in 1592, Trinity has sought to assist international students of limited means and reward academic achievement. The SETU Waterford academic scholarship for undergraduate programmes provides for a reduction of 20% in tuition fees for each year of the programmes, subject to the student achieving an average grade of 60% in each academic year of the programme of study.

The SETU Waterford academic scholarship for postgraduate programmes provides for a reduction of €2,000 for full time, taught postgraduate programmes.
