The Government's 2025-2029 Strategy document for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade includes a key objective to:

Ireland opened our first resident Embassy in Islamabad in 2022 and we continue to explore and build on the multiple people to people relations that two countries have. A present pillar in Ireland and Pakistan relations, both alumni and prospective are long established and the Embassy is commencing the task of building a database of the alumni population in Pakistan.
